Chobe National Park, Botswana
Etela Chobe
River of giants. Africa's greatest elephant spectacle.
Chobe National Park is home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa — over 130,000 animals that congregate along the Chobe River during the dry season. Etela Chobe sits on the banks of the river with 10 luxury tented suites, each with private plunge pools and large glass doors for uninterrupted river views. The two-storey main building features an infinity pool, library, and spa. A private jetty leads directly to river safaris, while elevated walkways allow game viewing from above the riverine forest canopy.
The lodge uses natural stone, hardwoods, and glass for an elegant yet organic feel — blending the sophistication of a riverfront retreat with materials that honour the landscape. Riverfront dining under the stars is a signature Chobe experience. The Chobe River sustains an ecosystem of extraordinary abundance. Buffalo herds numbering in the thousands, prides of lion specialising in hunting elephant calves, breeding pods of hippo, and Nile crocodiles all visible from your suite or the boat. Boat safaris on the Chobe are among the most productive wildlife experiences in Africa. At water level, the scale of the elephant herds crossing the river becomes visceral in a way no vehicle can replicate.
